John Wooden: One of the most studied and successful UCLA Basketball Coaches of all time is a pretty cool guy. With simple principles, he just about sums up Leadership, be it of children / youth, or as a leader of adults in any organisation ... I have half a page of notes from this TED talk, all of which capture the principles that we can now explain with psychology and neuroscience. We've always known the types of methods John employs work, now, with the latest advances in brain science, we also know why. That in itself helps the learning process in others (gives 'reason' to instruction).
If you want to address your approach to leadership with this depth, give us a call. We're waiting to help.
The highlight for me was one of the poems he cited;
"No Written word, No spoken plea, Can teach our youth what they should be. Nor all the books upon the shelves, It's what the leaders are themselves." That just about nails it. Enjoy.
